Professional Education Unit

The Center for Teacher Education is the single administrative unit responsible for the Teacher Education Programs at Ohio Northern University.  The faculty in the Center for Teacher Education include all full-time professional education faculty, who are also members of the Department of Education within the College of Arts and Sciences, and faculty representatives from each department across campus where teacher candidates take their content coursework (e.g. Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Technology, English, History, Music, Modern Languages, Engineering, etc.).  This group creates and has oversight over all policies and procedures related to the teacher education programs at Ohio Northern University including review of all applicants to the program.  The Director of Teacher Education serves as the unit head and reports directly to the university’s chief academic officer, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, on all matters related to the program.
