On March 30, the Northern Christian Fellowship (NFC) placed a box in McIntosh for students to anonymously submit “what turn’s them off about Christianity.”
“The purpose was to get feedback on the challenges of Christianity,” said Kevin Clark, NFC’s Outreach Officer.
Clark also said that the box has been placed in Mac in previous years and the intention was to spread information through NCF through members and the congregation.  Another purpose was to pray over and reflect on the best way to spread the gospel.
“It’s hard to speak in truth in love if you can’t relate to the audience,” said Summer Hall, 4th year nursing.
Previously, the question had not been specifically targeting Christianity, but Clark felt that because NFC is a Christian organization, the box should focus more on what NFC is all about.  In past years, NFC had targeted religion as a whole, but according to Clark and Hall, the response was too broad.
However, on March 31, a janitor reported to Clark that the box was missing.  Clark was unable to read any of the responses before the box disappeared, but he said he feels that there would be a couple responses about the hypocrisy of Christianity.
“People don’t always practice what we preach,” Clark said.
Hall quoted Brennan Manning: “The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, then walk out the door and deny him by their lifestyle.”
Clark was irritated by the missing box, at first, but then said he felt that God had a reason to why it went missing and he accepted that it was God’s will.
