MWCTC Director

Hey all, got this via the interbutts this morning. If any of you MSC'ers out there are interested in taking on the responsibility of the MWCTC, just let me know. This would be a heck of an opportunity for a collegiate triathlete--especially one with a major involving sport management. Hope we get at least some nibbles from the Northwest Ohio area!

MWCTC Reps:

Hey Teams! We are ready to move forward with nominations for the
Conference Director. The nomination and election process are outlined
below.

Mission of the MWCTC
The mission of the Midwest Collegiate Triathlon Conference is to
administer, develop, promote, and support the sport of triathlon at
the collegiate level within the Midwestern United States of America.
The MWCTC shall achieve these goals in part through a competitive race
series and championship while also fostering growth at a recreational
level, both in the Midwestern United States of America and through the
support of collegiate Triathlon on a national stage as well.

Responsibilities of the Conference Director:
1. Organize and run two conference meetings each year (preferably at
the Collegiate National Championships and the Conference
Championships), including sending out an agenda prior to each meeting
2. Maintain excellent communication with all MWCTC Team Reps
3. Maintain the MWCTC Google Group and other administrative aspects,
such as updating team memberships each year
4. Oversee each of the following areas: races, scoring, sponsorships,
Web site, awards
5. Update the MWCTC Constitution and Bylaws
6. Work closely with the Collegiate Commissioners from both the
Mideast and Midwest Regions
7. Attend the Collegiate National Championships and the Conference
Championships each year
8. Other duties as required

Eligibility Requirements:
All Directors must be able to fulfill a two-year term while actively
involved in the conference (There may be some exceptions depending on
how the nomination process proceeds).

All Conference Directors must be either:
(i) An active collegiate athlete on a MWCTC member school
(ii) The coach of a MWCTC Team who is recognized as such by the
Team’s School

Nomination Procedure:
1. Each team can submit ONE nomination (should come from team rep)
2. Each nominee must submit a completed nomination form with clear
headshot (*The Nomination form is posted in the files page on the
MWCTC Google Group)
3. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, May 15, 2009 (2 weeks)

Election Procedure:
1. A packet with all the nominees will be distributed to all MWCTC
team reps by Sunday, May 17, 2009
2. Each team will receive ONE vote.
3. Voting will be closed at midnight on Sunday, May 24, 2009
