Good morning from Denver!
I have been in Denver just over 24 hours and already have experienced so much! My flight from Akron to Denver went smoothly as I traveled with three other ONU students on the giant airbus to the Mile High City. Arriving at Regis University, a Jesuit college just 20 minutes outside downtown Denver, ONU students attended an informational orientation session with over 400 other students and faculty from around the country. There are 10 students from ONU and one student from John Carroll University that represent the state of Ohio here at the TWC Democratic Convention program.
Two nationally recognized political science scholors Dr. Thomas Cronin and Dr. Michael Genovese presented facts of the convention, past and present, and offered whatifs about the election. Then the ONU crew took off to the streets of downtown Denver and we were fortunate enough to get a glimpse of the CNN tour bus where presidential nominees Hillary, Obama, and John McCain were interviewed. One of the bus crew members offered for me to turn off the machines that run the connection from the CNN headquarters to the bus.
Having interned in Washington, D.C. the past 10 weeks, I am really excited for things to get started!
Off to TWC speakers for our second full day in Denver!
