Last night was amazing! Not only did I find out where the Hare Krishnas are (and I plan on paying them a visit before I leave the city permanently), I also got to go on the CNN bus. We were exploring downtown Denver after dinner, and had walked to the Pepsi Center (which, if you didn't know, is where the DNC is being held), when we saw the CNN bus parked across the street. We went over there and pictures were taken, and it was suggested that we ask if we could see the inside of the bus. The gentlemen working there were happy to show us the inside of the bus, and we got our pictures taken in there as well. As we were going to leave, I saw one of the men working for CNN had a name tag on a lanyard similar to the type that we have to wear here, except for the fact that it is a CNN lanyard, so I asked if he wanted to trade, and he did. I now have an awesome CNN lanyard. This morning we had two guest speakers. The first was the executive producer of the convention. I found it interesting, yet much of what he said seems to support the argument that the convention is just a big media event. I'm not sure I entirely believe that, but this guy admitted that he didn't know much about politics, he was a producer. The next speaker was Reverend Leah D. Daughtry of the DNCC. Reverend Daughtry spoke about "Faith and the Democratic party". I found her presentation to be inspiring, and she mentioned several events that I might attend (I'll right more about that if it actually happens). We then listened to one of the faculty advisors talk about primaries and why things work the way that they do. He has come up with a plan to fix them, and while I'm not sure it would be an effective. Still, he did have a plan, and he tried to put it into action which is more than most people do. We went to Red Rocks, which is positively to amazing for words, and then we went on a tour of Denver, followed by more time in the city. I'm really tired, so I will write more tomorrow.
