I got my fieldwork placements today, and they are the most extraordinarily awesome placements I think I could possibly manage! I'm not sure if I can talk about them just yet, I need to talk with the people that are granting me the placements first, but I am really excited. I also had a talk with Dr Alexander today about possibly doing some community service projects like working at a soup kitchen or something along those lines for the days that I am not committed. I'm also going to spend some time tomorrow talking to people on the streets, to see what they think of this whole process. That is after I go on my Krishna hunt. As far as speakers go, we had quite the line up today. First we had a panel on convention logistics consisting of Travis Dredd, the DNCC Deputy CEO for Inside the hall operations, and Cameron Moody, the DNCC Deputy CEO for Outside the Hall operations. The other guy on the panel called in sick. They provided insight to what all goes into coordinating the convention. I greatly enjoyed the presentation, but to be quite honest, I'm not sure I would want either of their jobs. The next speaker was a reporter who had reported on all kinds of political races, presidential and foreign. Honestly, I think he was the best speaker that we have had thus far. He was very personable and the stories he told were amazing.
