Trying to catch up

So many things have happened to so many in the contingent!

Several others have already blogged about the media party...so I'll keep it to a minimum. However, I'll probably have more to say on it later. Here's a photo of the fireworks display.

Funny story...evidently folks in the downtown area couldn't see the fireworks going off. There were actually 3 sets being set off at the same time (quite a show). They couldn't see them, but they could hear them. Supposedly, many folks starting "hitting the deck" thinking a real disturbance was afoot. Alas...it was just the media folks having a good time.

The day after the media party...we went to a Rockies game (against our home state Reds). However...when in Rome....we were mostly cheering for the Rockies. The Ohio Democratic Party hooked the group up with tickets and most of us were able to attend. If you paid attention to the ball game...it was a good one! In the bottom of the 12th...Quintinalla hit a home run to right (exactly where we were). the ball careened right above us to about 6 rows down from where we were. You could see our group on Sportscenter if you knew who you were looking for!

Not a bad seat (we were in the shade too!).

Gov. Dean...Yeaaaaaahhhhhh....

Today...C-SPAN filmed Gov. Ed Rendell's speech to the Washington Center. I asked a question (I have no idea when it will air...so tune in loyal C-SPAN viewers...and I know you're out there)!

Mike Smith (ONU alum and President of the Washington Center), Ed Rendell (Governor of PA) and two TWC students after the C-SPAN taping...

I'm a bit behind...but I had to write a few things down. I'll try and write more later!

Later,
