"Welcome, Rich White Oligarchs"

Hello everyone!  As you know, I am out here in the Twin Cities for all of the festivities.  First of all, I want to say hello to all my colleagues out in Denver!  Sounds like you all are having fun... live it up!  Secondly, I would like to say that Minneapolis is great so far!  It was a trip to get here (I flew from Dayton to Detroit, Detroit to Indianapolis, and then finally Indy to Minneapolis...all starting at 4am on Sunday) but it has been worth it so far!  I have been so busy just talking to all the new faces that I will be seeing every day for two weeks and I'm loving every minute of it. 

So, toady was our first full day here today.  We heard from Senator Mickey Edwards today as well as Dr. Meena Bose.  They gave us a lot of insight into today's government touching on subjects such as political parties, the emerging responsibility of the Vice President, Conservatism as well as many other things.  They sat down in front of all of us and just had a conversation with us, took questions and answered them.  It was really great to have an insiders feel on things and it was great hearing from Sen. Edwards about all of the inside information on how our government runs.  To give you a feel of who this man is, he was in a room with 8 other people sitting around a table talking to Ronald Reagan and Reagan asked his opinion on who he should choose for his running mate.  So it is a real treat to have him with us for this whole experience. 

 Well, I think thats all for tonight.  I can't wait for this week to really start taking off!! I'll check back in soon!

 P.S. I wasn't able to add that picture that would explain my title but I'll just explain it now so that no one is confused.  In Minneapolis, there is large billboard advertising The Daily Show with John Stewart and in big bold letters on it is says "Welcome, Rich White Oligarchs."  I just figured I would clear that up for everyone so that there weren't any misunderstandings.
