Amazing

Today was the first day of the lecture series. Professor Cronin did an excellent job setting the tone for the seminars. In fact, he discussed a number of points I typically bring up in my course on the Presidency (not surprising since I use HIS textbook). I guess our students have an inside track on that lecture!

Some phenomenal speakers have been lined up...tomorrow, we will be hearing from the Executive Producer of the Democratic National Convention. Yes...both of the Conventions have executive producers...much like the Olympics, Oscars, World Series, etc...Their job is to "tell the story" of the Convention to the wider auidences tuning into the events on television. Each night has its own theme. The final night's theme of course revolves around--Change you can believe in. The thought is that Obama needs a very strong Convention if he is to have a real chance to win in November. The consensus is that he needs a bounce out of Denver.

We should be touring the Pepsi Center on Friday (and meet with Howard Dean...Yeahhhhhhh....that was a take on his "I have a Scream speach"...it should be neat). We will have a reception at Invesco Field on Wednesday (the site of Obama's acceptance speach). The students are going to be exposed to so much! Amazing! More later...
