Hello! Thank you for taking the time and interest to read my bio! For starters, I am from the town of Jefferson, Ohio. It is about the same size as Ada, minus the college campus, with farm territory all around it as well. Growing up I wanted to be many things; some common and others a little more far-reaching. Of course, I wanted to be a firefighter, policeman, and astronaut like most other kids. But, as I got older my interests became more specific to certain career paths. I wanted to take over my dad’s landscaping business or to be a Fortune 500 business executive. Now my goal is that of being President of the United States. So, did you chuckle? That last goal I have is commonly questioned by even my closest friends and family, mostly for its attainability and true desirability. When asked my motivations for wanting to be President of the United States, I did not have a very coherent set of reasons until just recently as I was campaigning for my current position, President of Student Senate. When I got to thinking about my reasons, I realized that I wanted to be President simply because I wanted to help the most people in the shortest amount of time. A leader of anything has the potential to change the organization and the people who are in it significantly, for better or worse. As a freshman, I knew a Student Senate existed, although I never knew how exactly I could be involved. Towards the end of freshman year, I found a friend who was already in Student Senate and he told me of Cabinet interviews and applications. Once I had applied for a position in Cabinet and had my interview, I was offered, and accepted, the position of Secretary of Judicial Affairs under the Eagle/Senesi administration. Throughout my tenure in that position, I became very close to President Eagle and began to contemplate running for President towards the beginning of Winter Quarter of sophomore year. After talks with various people, I decided to run for the position. After a campaign that seemed to last forever, I was elected President on January 31st. Since that day, along with my Vice-President Kelly Morman, I have appointed a Cabinet and formulated a vision for not only Student Senate, but also for the student body. Each time I talk with any Cabinet member, I am refreshed to see their enthusiasm and passion for the organization and the tasks ahead. All of us in Student Senate are here to work for the students, and we encourage you to please contact any of us with a problem. I especially encourage all of you to contact me directly if you have any problems or concerns and we will be sure they are handled in a timely manner and in a way that is satisfactory to all parties. |
