ONU Student Senate

Back in 2006, Ohio Northern students approached Student Senate with a concern. Their concern was the lack of outdoor seating on campus. Hearing this, Student Senate took initiative and set out to solve the problem. Immediately, the Bench Committee was formed. The committee walked around campus to decide possible locations for benches. The committee then made a list of these locations and presented it to the administration. After this, Senate, Alumni Affairs, and the President’s office began working together to make the suggestion a reality. The concept was presented to Alumni Affairs and then offered to alum to purchase a “Sweetheart Bench.”
As you walk around campus, take a look at the 43 new benches bought by ONU alum, or even better, sit down and enjoy one. This is just one example of how student concerns are met with action when taken to Student Senate.
