My willingness to contribute, be active,
and help make things better, led me into leadership roles at the
University within and after my freshman year. With a campaign of making
sure I knocked on every door, I was elected to Student Senate as the
Maglott Hall Housing Representative. Moving into my sophomore year, I
decided to run for a College Representative position in Senate
representing the College of Arts and Sciences. Upon a successful
campaign and being an active member on the Finance Committee, I also
fulfilled my position by serving on the Student Advisory Board for Dean
Manzer. Elected to be one of two students within the college of Arts
and Sciences who serves on the Committee on Curriculum, I represented
student interests to ensure an adequate and fair curriculum. Continuing
my interests in finances I also served as Treasurer for Phi Alpha Delta
Pre-law society, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum
Development, as well as the Model United Nations Delegation
representing Hungary at the National Conference in New York City.
Getting involved, meeting new people, contributing ideas and working
to improve organizations or to bring a different perspective is where
my passion lies. Throughout my life, no matter what class year,
organization involvement, or place of work, I have always strived to
make things better. I am an optimist as I believe there is always
potential for growth and improvement, and it should be something that
we all work towards. This is a viewpoint that I strive to live by and
apply to as many aspects of my life as possible. The personal quote
that is the center for my willingness to help make things better is,
"While striving for perfection, excellence will be obtained." If we do
not live our lives working for the best, we must ask ourselves if we
are letting the potential of life crumble before us. We have a great
ability to learn from each other and share with others in a sense of
betterment, that life becomes a wonderful and challenging gift.
Outside of academic and social growth at school my other passions
can be found in strong friendships, value in family, and a sport that
has brought much joy into my life--bowling. As many do not know, I
started at the age of five and bowling has become a very clear
"other-half" per se. I compete at the regional and national level and
hold corporate sponsorships from my abilities on and off the lanes.
Currently, I'm continuing to compete in tournaments in the hope of
earning a spot on the elite Junior USA Olympic Team. In the free time
that I have, I enjoy simple pleasures of an enlightening conversation
or debate with a friend, watching movies, or unwinding by listening to
an array of music types.
