Welcome to the Ohio Northern University student branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. On this site you can find information about our branch, IEEE, and the fields of electrical, electronics, and computer engineering and computer science.

About Our Branch

The ONU branch of IEEE is comprised of students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science (ECCS). We hold many events throughout the school year for students and faculty members. Some of our most popular events include the finals week Sudoku Challenge and the Fall and Spring picnics. The theme for our Spring Picnic was It's a Professor Parody Party (IPPP). At the picnic we enjoyed Lee's chicken and watched videos of students inpersonating professors. There was at least one impersonation of each of the ECCS professors and the dean! You can watch the two videos at:

In addition to hosting events, our IEEE branch sponsors a Micromouse team. The IEEE hosts a competition where schools from all of the country build small autonomous mice that are designed to navigate a maze. The mice use a combination of hardware and software to navigate the maze as safetly and quickly as possible. The contest is judged on quickness and ability to make it to the center of the maze.
